Brazil Multi-IMSI
SIM Card for 1NCE Brazil
The multi-IMSI SIM CARD designed for Brazil has a mechanism to switch from different IMSIS. This multi-IMSI strategy was developed for Brazil to cope with the local regulatory requirements, which do not allow 1NCE to operate in full roaming under its regular Global IMSI (GSIM) 90140. A local Brazilian IMSI was bought locally (72468) and opened in the Claro Brazil network as part of the MVNO agreement.
Brazil Use Case
The 1NCE multi-IMSI applet aims to cope with the legal Brazilian aspects, which do not allow permanent roaming in Brazil. Hence, it will provide a powerful mechanism for cases with lack of coverage and susceptibility to network faults common on a single IMSI SIM Card.
To cover this use case, 1NCE will launch its services in Brazil using a local IMSI. To ensure seamless connectivity, 1NCE SIM will use the Global IMSI ranges to cover areas where the local IMSI doesn’t allow connection.
As Global IMSI would be allowed to roam only for 90 days, it is needed that there is a rotational mechanism between the global IMSIs to ensure 1NCE customer devices are not rejected from the network. In order to achieve this 1NCE is already legally and technically preparing themselves from a network standpoint but to complete the picture we are looking to get a MultiIMSI applet developed and then embedded into our Brazil SIMs.
Tested IoT Devices
Based on the described requirements, 1NCE is managing a list of tested and verified IoT Devices. The following list is updated and maintained actively. The date of the homologation, details on the Firmware version, and any other relevant data points are included in the list.
Please refer to the list of tested devices and Modems that already meet 1NCE Brazil Multi-IMSI SIM requirements.
